WHAT CAUSES DRAIN CLOGS?

Regular use of drains can cause organic matter, like food particles, hair and grease to gradually accumulate on the inside wall of the pipes.  This buildup slows down normal flow of water and causes most clogs.  Another common problem is a "foreign object" may be in the drain.  This can be anything from a child's toy or diaper to feminine hygiene products.

More serious drain clogs can be caused by root infiltration.  Roots from the trees work their way into the pipe causing serious issues with drains backing-up, as well as causing more serious sewer/septic problems.

EQUIPMENT FOR SOLVING YOUR CLOGGED DRAIN PROBLEMS!

Here at Aardvark Rooter, we have several different tools to solve your clogged drain problems.  In the diagram on the right, you can see a typical clogged drain in the top picture.  In the middle you see a cable being used to clear the blockage.  (There are several different tips for use on a professional cable to clear drain blockage.)  And in the picture at the bottom, you see a hydro jetter being used to force flush the drain. 

Another great opportunity is to have your Aardvark Rooter technician perform a video inspection of the main drain.  This ensures there are no additional problems.

SOME SIMPLE FIXES TO TRY AT HOME BEFORE CALLING A PLUMBING COMPANY...

Drain is sluggish, but not completely blocked, turn on the hot tap for 5-10 minutes.  Sometimes this will open the drain.

Apply a plunger to the clogged drain.  If the suction from the plunger does not work, you will probably be forced to remove some of the pipes to get the job done.  At this point, call the experienced technicians at Aardvark Rooter, for the best solution.
